The Fence Campaign
A little elbow grease goes along way in the want for a dog park. And we have had a steady crew of town folk and donated business labour come out to help pile, clear, chip and mulch our way to success.
NOW, it's time to turn the burners on to raise the rest of the money needed for fencing. And we are happy to report we are almost half way there!
Now for the math.
- A total of 2000 ft of fence is needed
- One can purchase them in 10 ft sections
- Conversely, this equals 200 sections for purchase
- To date we have sold 156 sections
Now here's a point of town pride. The Town of Bridgewater is also starting a dog park (Congratulations Bridgewater!!) but has a big head start with a huge funding pledge from the town itself. While we have The Town of Lunenburg's nod of approval, unfortunately they are not in the same position to provide such funding. To that end we have raised all the funds to date all by ourselves and boy does it feel good.
With the help of donated business sponsors we have designed and engineered the specifics of the park. We have also orchestrated a stellar round robin of volunteers who have truly wiped the Mud, Sweat & Tears from their brows whilst completing some pretty heavy physical labour. Again, we have cut, cleared, piled, chipped and removed a tonne of garbage from the site. To see the work done thus far is truly amazing.
Our final big push is raising money for the fencing. Again, thanks to donated business sponsors the installation will be taken care of, but we need to sell but a 100 or so more sections.
This is truly a labour of love for our dogs and ourselves and we are so excited to be half way there. So please donate if you can. Buy a length, buy two. Buy for you furry loved one or one you once loved.
Meet some of the businesses that helped out our fence campaign thus far! Thank you..we think you are bark-tacular...
