Our Mission

Lunenburg and neighbouring Communities currently have no area for dogs to go to exercise, play and socialize. The goal of the society is to establish a fenced in, off-leash dog park where well-behaved canine citizens can exercise in a clean, safe enviroment without endangering or annoying people, property, or wildlife.
We, the citizens of the town and surrounding areas would like to develop a beautiful, well-maintained space open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park's rules and restrictions. We are viewing this park as a community project, in partnership with the town of Lunenburg, NS designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike. Where, not only the dogs, but also people from anywhere can socialize and enjoy yet another attraction within the town limits.
We could also encourage dog events like a frisbee catch, agility, educationals, etc. to come to the new park, which may help offset any of the costs involved with the upkeep of the area.

Open for Business! Oh Happy Dog Days!
Hard work and then even more hard work has paid off in the form of the large dog park section being done!
Now, this does not mean you can't bring your wee ones down to enjoy the massive space. In fact we have seen some wieners dogs down playing amongst their big friends and they love it!
Whilst checking out the park you will notice a poop bag station outside the double gated entry. Be sure to grab a couple bags and keep a keen eye out for your dog's "activity" as the freshly spread mulch serves as the perfect foil for canine refuse. A large garbage bin has been conveniently placed right by the parking lot to dispose of said waste when you leave.
Also, you will notice there is a shelter going up so please mind the construction that Colin is so graciously contributing to our paws cause. We have also tossed a few sturdy balls for communal play in the park so feel free to toss around some love with your furry friends.
So don't forget that fundraising for the small dog section continues though so please visit our Fence Campaign Page and make a donation today! The park is such a huge source of community pride for all to enjoy come rain or shine we hope that you find it reason to contribute to its growing success.
